Why the Search Results Sound More Certain Than the Evidence
The US-English results page on July 18 put an AI answer, Reddit discussions, Claude’s own product result, a commercial “11 ways” guide, and videos beside one another. The AI answer got the public default mostly right—Free exists and Pro has no general public trial—but then mixed account passes, student routes, Claude Code, and third-party access into the same idea of “free Claude.” Forums showed active demand and recent pass sharing. Commercial pages asserted exact durations such as 14–30 days.
Those sources answer different questions. Claude owns plan status, price, billing, supported locations, and promotion policy. A signed-in account owns whether a targeted offer applies to that account. A forum can show that people are discussing or sharing links, but it cannot establish recipient eligibility, renewal, cancellation, or geographic support. A commercial page cannot create a Claude entitlement.
This source audit used a signed-out Google page with hl=en, gl=US, and pws=0. The physical capture location remained unknown, so gl=US should be read as a search-market parameter, not proof of a US IP or a result every US user will see.
The practical rule is simple: a source may alert you to an offer, but only the current official account flow can grant it.
The Seven Fields Every Claude Offer Must Pass
Before activating any premium-access claim, write down all seven fields below. This is more reliable than asking whether a link “looks official,” because a genuine official-domain link can still be expired, exhausted, or inapplicable to your account.

What Each “Free Pro” Route Really Means
Claude Free is a plan, not a Pro trial
Claude’s public pricing page lists Free at $0 and Pro as a paid individual plan. Free is the cleanest way to test Claude’s writing, analysis, file handling, and fit with your everyday tasks without assuming a premium promotion. It has usage limits and does not temporarily convert the account into Pro.
Availability still comes first. Claude limits Free and paid access to supported physical locations, and paid signup requires a supported-region phone number. If your location is unsupported, do not use workarounds, rented numbers, or shared accounts to manufacture eligibility.
Account promotions are possible, not guaranteed
Claude’s Pro help page says Anthropic occasionally runs limited-time promotions through official channels. That proves promotions can exist; it does not prove one is active for you. Support also says there is no standard discounted pricing it can issue on request.
