# Suno Error "Token Validation Failed": Fix the Hidden Bot Check

> The token is Suno's invisible anti-bot check, not your login or credits. If many report it at once, wait; otherwise check VPN, clock, browser and extensions.

---
When suno.com shows `An error occurred. Token validation failed.` after you press **Create**, Suno's server didn't accept the anti-bot check that rides along with every generation request. The "token" is a short-lived pass from an invisible check run by Cloudflare Turnstile or hCaptcha, the services behind the "Verify you are human" box. It is not your login, your credits or a ban, and Suno's public web code as of November 4, 2026 shows where that pass is attached and where it can go missing.

So the fix depends on whose side broke. If r/SunoAI fills up with the same message within the hour, it is Suno's side and the only move is to wait. If it is just you, the problem sits in your browser or network: reload, wait a minute and retry once, then turn off any VPN or proxy, set your system clock to automatic, update or switch your browser, pause script-blocking extensions, and try another network such as a phone hotspot. Cloudflare's free Turnstile Troubleshooter tests most of these on one page.

If none of that works, email support@suno.com with the details listed below. Developers who get `{"detail":"Token validation failed."}` from an unofficial Suno API wrapper have a different problem, covered near the end.

## What "Token validation failed" means on Suno

Before Suno generates a song, the web app asks Suno's server whether this request needs a bot check, runs the check if it does, and sends the resulting token together with the Create request. "Token validation failed" is the server's reply when that token is missing or not accepted. The sentence appears nowhere in the 115 JavaScript files that suno.com/create served on November 4, 2026; the app simply prints whatever text the server sends back under the heading "An error occurred.", which is why people quote the two lines together. Suno's code runs the same check before stem extraction, so the message can also appear when you extract or download stems.

![Diagram of one Suno Create request: server pre-check, hidden Turnstile or hCaptcha check, token sent with the request, six ways it goes out empty, and the server either generating the song or showing "Token validation failed."](https://blog.laozhang.ai/posts/en/suno-token-validation-failed/img/token-request-path.webp)

The same code also shows what the message is not. Running out of credits comes back as a separate HTTP 402 response with its own message, too many generations at once (HTTP 429) has its own handling, and sign-in problems use their own errors. Nothing in this message says your account is banned. A failed voice verification in Add Voice, or an upload rejected for matching an existing song, is a different check altogether.

Which check runs is decided per request by Suno's server: hCaptcha, which is the app's default, or Cloudflare Turnstile. If the app can't even get an answer to that first question, it assumes a check is needed and falls back to hCaptcha. Both normally run out of sight, so most people never see a puzzle. This picture comes from reading Suno's shipped code on a logged-out page, not from reproducing the error on a live account, and the server's own rules, such as how long a token lasts or how an IP address is scored, aren't visible from the browser.

## Is Suno down, or is it just you?

If many people report the same toast at the same time, it is Suno, and changing your setup won't help. That happened in February 2026. On February 17, an r/SunoAI thread titled "Suno down for anyone else?" drew about 40 posts, including "Getting the following message when I hit create: An error occurred - token validation failed.", and a separate r/SunoAI thread titled "Token Validation Failed" error, dated February 18, quotes the same toast after pressing Create. Suno has no public status page to check (status.suno.com doesn't resolve as of November 4, 2026), and it has not posted about this error on X. Your best signals are the maintenance banner Suno shows inside the app and the newest posts on r/SunoAI. If there is no banner and no cluster of fresh reports, treat it as your own setup and go through the steps below.

## How to fix "Token validation failed", in order

Go from the cheapest step to the most disruptive, and press Create once after each change instead of clicking it repeatedly. The order follows how the check fails: a stale page or a slow first attempt can clear on its own, while a VPN, a wrong clock, an old browser or a blocked script keeps failing until you change it.

![Flowchart: if many people report the error at once, wait for Suno; if it is just you, work through seven fixes from reloading to switching networks, then email support@suno.com](https://blog.laozhang.ai/posts/en/suno-token-validation-failed/img/fix-order.webp)

1. Reload the page, wait about a minute, and press Create once. When Turnstile comes back empty, the app can switch to hCaptcha and stays on it for the next 10 minutes, so one calm retry gives that fallback a chance. Nothing in the code suggests that clicking repeatedly helps, and Suno publishes no fixed cooldown.
2. Open [Cloudflare's Turnstile Troubleshooter](https://debug.challenges.cloudflare.com/) in the same browser. It checks for automation, your system clock, privacy tools and whether you can reach Cloudflare, so a failed item points you to one of the next steps.
3. Turn off any VPN or proxy and try again. Cloudflare's own troubleshooting list says some VPNs and proxies interfere with the check and tells you to disable them to test.
4. Set your computer's date and time to update automatically. A wrong clock is one of the causes Cloudflare gives for a check that times out (its error 110600) and for its "clock or cache problem" (200100).
5. Open suno.com in a private or incognito window, where most extensions are off, sign in and press Create. If that works, turn your extensions back on one at a time; script blockers and privacy add-ons are more likely to be the problem than a normal ad blocker, as explained below.
6. Update your browser, or try another current one such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Turnstile supports every major browser except Internet Explorer, but when it reports a browser as unsupported, Suno's app sends Create with no token.
7. Switch networks, for example from school or office Wi-Fi to your phone's hotspot. If Create works on the hotspot, the first network is filtering or flagging the traffic, which is something to raise with whoever runs it.

On November 4, 2026 at 14:56 UTC, the Troubleshooter (version 1.3.4) in a Chromium-based browser on macOS reported "No automation detected", "Clock synchronized", "No interference detected" and "Can reach Cloudflare". Four passes like that are what you want to see. A clean result shows that Turnstile can work in your browser, but Suno's server still decides whether to accept the token, so steps 3 and 7 can matter even when every check passes. The page's **Copy results** button produces a report for support with a session ID, timestamp, browser and Turnstile status. It also contains your IP address, so send it privately rather than pasting it into Reddit or Discord.

## Six ways the check ends with no token, and what each looks like

Suno's web app sends the Create request with an empty token in six situations, and an empty token is the likeliest way to get "Token validation failed." Some of them leave visible clues, which tells you which fix to try first. They come from Suno's web code as served on November 4, 2026, which can change with any update.

| What happened inside the page | What you probably noticed | What to try |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Turnstile gave no answer within 30 seconds | Create seemed to hang, then the error appeared | Retry once; then turn off the VPN or switch networks |
| A "Verify you are human" box appeared and wasn't finished within 120 seconds | A Cloudflare box over a darkened screen | Complete it right away; if it keeps returning, see the section on repeated checks |
| The token expired before the request went out | A long pause between pressing Create and the error | Reload the page and press Create again |
| Turnstile reported the browser as unsupported | Nothing unusual on screen | Update the browser or switch to a current one |
| The Turnstile script from `challenges.cloudflare.com` didn't load | No box ever appears, even when other fixes fail | Look for a script blocker, DNS filter or school/work network blocking that domain |
| The check crashed while loading | Nothing unusual on screen | Reload, then try a private window to rule out extensions that alter pages |

The app also waits at most 10 seconds for the check to load on the page; if it never shows up, Create goes out without a token. When Turnstile comes back empty and Suno's hCaptcha fallback is switched on, as it was on November 4, 2026, the app retries with hCaptcha first, so not every Turnstile failure reaches you as an error. That a missing token produces this exact message is inferred from the code and from the raw server reply quoted in public GitHub reports; it was not reproduced on a live account. Cloudflare's numbered error codes, such as 110600 or 200500, never appear in Suno's toast and show up only in the browser's developer console, if at all.

## Does an ad blocker cause Suno's token error?

A standard ad blocker running its default lists is unlikely to be the cause. On November 4, 2026, 15 popular blocklists were downloaded and matched against every host Suno's check needs: EasyList, EasyPrivacy, the uBlock filters, Privacy and Badware lists, AdGuard Base, Tracking Protection and DNS filter, Peter Lowe's list, StevenBlack hosts, OISD big, HaGeZi Pro, Pro++ and Ultimate, and Fanboy Annoyance. None of them had a single rule blocking `challenges.cloudflare.com`, Suno's hCaptcha hosts or its sign-in and API hosts, and EasyList and AdGuard Base explicitly allow the Turnstile and hCaptcha scripts. What these lists do block on Suno is telemetry, such as `metrics-prod.suno.com` and `goto.suno.com`, which the check doesn't need.

That test only covered domain rules in those lists. Your own custom rules, extensions that block all third-party scripts (NoScript-style), the built-in shields of privacy browsers, Pi-hole or NextDNS with other lists, and school or work DNS filters can still block the check. If you run one of those, allow `challenges.cloudflare.com`, `hcaptcha-endpoint-prod.suno.com`, `hcaptcha-assets-prod.suno.com`, `hcaptcha-imgs-prod.suno.com`, `hcaptcha-reportapi-prod.suno.com`, `studio-api-prod.suno.com`, `auth.suno.com` and `clerk.suno.com`. Those hosts come from Suno's code on the same day, and the list may grow.

## Does a VPN or proxy cause it, and what Suno's terms say

A VPN or proxy is one of the likelier causes, and turning it off is the quickest test. The [Cloudflare Turnstile error-code guide](https://developers.cloudflare.com/turnstile/troubleshooting/client-side-errors/error-codes/) lists "Avoid VPNs or proxies" among its fixes because some of them interfere with the check, and whatever Suno's server checks about the address your request comes from isn't public. If Create works with the VPN off, keep it off while you use Suno.

[Suno's Terms of Service](https://suno.com/terms), revised August 10, 2026 and effective September 3, 2026, also bear on this. They bar users from circumventing geographic restrictions "including through the use of virtual private networks", and say that if Suno blocks you, including by IP address, you may not get around it "by masking your IP address or using a proxy IP address or virtual private network". Those clauses are about getting around regional restrictions and blocks, not about VPN use in general, but they rule out a VPN as the answer when Suno is unavailable where you are or has blocked you.

## "Verify you are human" keeps popping up or never finishes

Turnstile normally runs out of sight, and Suno only shows Cloudflare's "Verify you are human" box, over a darkened screen, when Cloudflare wants you to interact. If that box isn't finished within 120 seconds, the app gives up and sends Create without a token, so leaving it unanswered in a background tab can be enough to trigger the error. A box that comes back again and again (an r/SunoAI thread from August 4, 2026 is titled "'verify you are human' constantly appears every 15 seconds") is a sign that Cloudflare isn't satisfied with your browser or connection. Run the Troubleshooter, go through the VPN, clock, extension and network steps above, and if it still loops on a clean setup, report it to support.

## What to send Suno support when nothing works

Suno's only official support contact is support@suno.com, with billing questions going to billing@suno.com; its [help article on getting support](https://help.suno.com/en/articles/2551617) says Discord is not an official support channel. As of November 4, 2026, Suno's help center has no article on this error, so a precise email is your best route. Include these:

1. The exact message, `An error occurred. Token validation failed.`, and which button you pressed.
2. The date and time it happened, with your time zone, and whether it fails every time or only sometimes.
3. Your browser and its version, your operating system, and whether you were on a VPN, a proxy or a school or work network.
4. What you already tried, such as a private window, another browser, another network or turning the VPN off, and what happened each time.
5. The Troubleshooter's **Copy results** report, which is fine to share in a private email even though it contains your IP address.
6. Your credit balance before and after the failed attempts, if you think credits were taken.

Send it from the email address on your Suno account so support can find your generations.

## Unofficial Suno API returns {"detail":"Token validation failed."}

If an unofficial wrapper such as gcui-art/suno-api returns `{"detail":"Token validation failed."}`, it is the same server-side check: Suno didn't receive a valid check token with the generation call. The project's [GitHub issue #198](https://github.com/gcui-art/suno-api/issues/198) from November 2024 traced the error to its hCaptcha token, and [issue #224](https://github.com/gcui-art/suno-api/issues/224) from January 2025 was fixed by an update to the wrapper's code. The project's README says it drives a browser with Playwright and pays the 2Captcha service to solve hCaptcha, while Suno's terms bar "data mining, robots, scraping, or similar data gathering or extraction methods". Since Suno's web app now also uses Cloudflare Turnstile, wrappers built around hCaptcha can break again, and the only fix for that sits with the wrapper's maintainers.

## Suno token validation errors: other questions

### Is Suno's "couldn't verify your request" message the same problem?

Probably. The full message, `We couldn't verify your request. Please refresh the page and try again.`, comes from Suno's server rather than the web app, just like "Token validation failed", and its wording points to the same anti-bot check, though Suno hasn't confirmed that as of November 4, 2026. Refresh the page and press Create once; if it repeats, the same steps apply.

### Did the failed attempts use my Suno credits?

Suno doesn't say, as of November 4, 2026. Compare your credit balance before and after a failed Create, and if it dropped, put both numbers in your email to support@suno.com.

### What does "A system error occurred" mean on Suno?

That one is Suno's own fallback text, shown under "An error occurred." when the server sends back no explanation, so it says less about the cause than "Token validation failed" does. Checking r/SunoAI for an outage is the first step there too.
